WHO
WE ARE!
In the spring of 1990, we bought an acreage near Okotoks, Alberta. That fall we bought a small flock of Polypay sheep. Since Brett was working at a neighbouring sheep farm, we had seen the price breeding stock and market lambs brought. Marketing these was not a problem. Wool on the other hand became a challenge. We placed a call to Canadian Co-operative Wool Growers in Lethbridge, Alberta and found they were paying $0.50 a pound. Quick mathematics told us this was not the way we wanted to market our wool. There had to be a better way. While attending the Old Tyme Sheep Fair in Olds, Alberta, we happened to meet Val Sleimko (a Master Spinner). She was demonstrating spinning on behalf of Olds College. We bought our first spinning wheel shortly after Christmas 1990 and in 1992 we bought our first loom. Brett has taken two sheep production courses and a shearing course at Olds College. Cathy has taken Master Spinning Levels I, II, and III as well as numerous workshops. In 1994 we moved to our present farm of 80 acres, located east of Vulcan, Alberta. Here we have set up shop to process our wool for spinners and weavers everywhere and produce products from our own processed wool. HOME MAIL ORDER LIST FLEECES SHEEP GREAT PYRENEES LLAMAS
